Message From the Mayor: September 2023

Mayor Goodwin

Fellow Citizens,
Well, Summer Season is officially over! But don’t lose heart, it is time for the residents to have some fun. September 7 at 6pm The East Coast Party Band will be in the Folly River Park entertaining the crowd. I know we will have fun with their always great performance. What a way to welcome your new Community Coordinator Heather O’Donnell!

Also on September 9th, at 10am in the Community Center we will resume our meetings with the Mayor for the Island’s younger residents.  We will be discussing the City’s new composting program along with your questions and ideas. Just because it is titled Cookies with the Mayor, doesn’t mean I don’t want to speak with our teenagers about your concerns and ideas for the city.  So, calling all teens to write me  or call or text me at 843 729 0298. We can create a platform for your concerns to be delivered to City Council and Staff to be addressed. No better opportunity than this month in the middle of a City Council campaign and election to get your concerns heard.

Speaking of Elections, all registered electors don’t forget to mark your calendar for the NEW ELECTION DAY November 7th. For more information, please visit www.chsvotes.go.

So, with all these happenings it is time to take back our beach!   As always if you have any questions I can be reached at or 843 729 0298.

See you soon
